Francesco Tomasi (Theorba & Barocguitar)
Francesco started his musical career with the guitar at eight years old with Fernando Lepri and Franco Todde. At 13 years old he decides to study lute with Marco Pesci and Andrea Damiani in the Conservatory “Santa Cecilia” of Roma. He achieves the Diplom in the 2009 with the highest mark.
He attended several of international master classes with Paul O’Dette, Jakob Lindberg and Nigel North. Now he's doing a Master study with Rolf Lislevand at the Musikhochschule of Trossingen (Germany).
He has an intensive concert's career thanks to collaborations with ensembles of early music like: “Arte Musica”, “Concerto Romano”, “Swiss Baroque soloists”, “Cappella Gabetta”, “Ricercare Antico”, “La selva”, “La Malaspina” and “Anfione ensemble”.
He played in many Festivals in Italy and in Europe like: Tager Alte Musik in Herne (Germania), Wiener Konzerthaus (Austria), Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk (Austria), Malgartner Kloster Konzerte (Germany), Festival Internazionale W.A. Mozart a Rovereto, Rheingau Musik Festival (Germany), “Festival Flatus” Siòn (Switzerland), Festival Internazionale di Musica Antica di Urbino, Festival di Polifonia e Musica Antica di Palestrina, Festival internazionale di Tagliacozzo, Antiqua Festival (Spain), Roma Festival Barocco, receiving consensus of critical opinion.
In the 2009 he participated in the show “Ponti Sonori” organized by the National Accademy of Santa Cecilia. From 2010 he's one member of the European Union Baroque Orquestra (EUBO). In 2010 he won the first price of the “Biagio Marini” competition in Neuburg an der Donau with the “la Malaspina” ensemble.
He also recorded a cd of Monteverdi's madrigal for the “Discoteca di Stato”, and a cd “Alla luna” with music of Biagio Marini for municipality of Parma, radio recording for “Radio Vaticana”, “Orf” (Austria), “WDR3” (Germany) and television recording for RAI International.
